Transformations: Sculptural Art from Altered Books DATES: SATURDAY 6/14 & 7/5 TIME: 1-4pm COST: $60 AGES 14+ ALL MATERIALS PROVIDED CLASS SIZE 7 In this dynamic and experimental workshop, students will transform old books into captivating, free-standing sculptures. Through hands-on exploration and manipulation, participants will learn to reimagine the pages of discarded books into visually compelling three-dimensional artworks. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with various techniques, including folding, cutting, stacking, and paper manipulation, to construct free-standing sculptures. We provide a wide selection of hardbound books for students to choose from, however, participants are also welcome to bring their own books. Use this time to develop techniques without compromising a book of sentimental value. No prior experience in writing or visual art is necessary! Whether you are a budding writer, an aspiring artist, or simply someone looking to try something new, this workshop offers a space for self-expression, imagination, and creative discovery.
