This is the first release of Masterpiece Grimlock that was exclusive to Toys R Us in the USA. The packaging fits with other masterpieces of the time and features a large plastic wi ndow display. This version of Grimlock came with the chrome crown from the King version and did not include any of the other accessories like the apron or drink tray. A good way to tell the actual toy apart from other masterpiece Grimlocks is that the claws and teeth are more rounded, and this is the only release of Grimlock that has the white and red stripes painted on the robot's upper arms.
