The TransGo 48RE Shift Kit includes valve body and internal components designed to increase operating pressure, improve torque capacity and provide short, clean shifts while retaining factory-style shift timing. With the kit installed, maximum line pressure can be set to approximately 115 PSI in first, second and third gears, and up to 190 PSI in fourth gear or torque converter lockup. The increased pressure improves the holding capacity of the transmission’s friction elements, including the torque converter clutch, making this kit well suited for towing, work trucks and other heavy-duty applications. The kit also improves converter charge and helps reduce delayed engagement caused by torque converter drainback. It can be installed with the transmission in the truck, while the included internal sealing rings can be used when the transmission is being rebuilt.
