This gorgeous 23-micron combed wool is 100% from transhumant Merino sheep, naturally white in color. These sheep travel the Cañadas Reales on their annual round trips. In working with Transhumance Combed Wool you will not only create unique spinning, felting or artistic works, but you will also support the maintenance and conservation of biodiversity regeneration and the transhumant culture of the most unique, pure, and traditional grazing. This listing is for 100g [3.5oz] of combed wool fiber. Like carded wool, the combed wool is just one more product in the wool-to-yarn cycle. The process is the same. After being sheared, sorted, and washed, the clean wool goes to the carding machine where the fibers are cleaned and aligned, a machine that has already replaced the old trades of carders and combers. The only difference with carded wool is the final form, this being a long, fluffy strand of wool. This product will allow you to spin wool into handcrafted soft yarns, as well as carrying out endless felting projects that will bring you all the benefits of wool.
