Influenced by American realist painter Edward Hopper and European travel posters of the 1920’s, Alan Claude's challenge was to create an original series with a certain freshness of expression. Throughout the 20th century only a handful of lighthouse travel posters were ever made. "I wanted to reflect in this series the way I felt about lighthouses."
