This is a mix of our favourite cover crops for supporting young trees and pollinators and establishing a diverse ground cover of self seeding and perennial helpers. In the mix is w hite, red and crimson clover along with common and hairy vetch, buckwheat, phacelia and yarrow. Together these plants will provide a long season of beautiful flowers that you and the bugs can enjoy while building the soil by fixing nitrogen and cycling carbon and other nutrients. Seed in the spring and help it get established by weeding grasses and other pesky weeds for at least the first season. Can be seeded in a ring around each tree, along the row in an orchard or used creatively wherever a ground cover ecosystem is desired. Be sure to monitor and make it doesn't smother your trees. Keep at least a 6 inch radius around the trunk of trees (even older ones) to keep rodents and damp loving fungi away. Show more
