Rhythm’s “Tri-Cracker” takes you to a retro view of city festivities. This iconic Magic Motion clock was released in 2000 as an addition to the widely-recognized “Timecracker” family of clocks, but would later become its own series since it had a completely new motion. Today, they are known as the “Glory” series, and they each feature partially transparent 3-piece dials. At the top of the hour or when the demonstration is activated, the dial pieces slide apart and the balloons beneath move as one of 6 popular tunes play in Rhythm’s euphoric Dynamic Wave Sound (DWS), featuring hits like “Honesty” by Billy Joel and the theme from “Mahogany”. This exact melody list was only available on three different models, making it difficult to find since two of them (including this one) were retired in 2005. It is encased in a thin metallic gray frame with a brown and gold pattern on the glass. The multi-layered design of the city buildings beneath the dial partially hide a continuously-rotating decorative wheel.
