PUNK ROCK FROM A TRUE PUNK: Glen Matlock, a founding member of the Sex Pistols, played a crucial role in shaping the sound of the band, which had a profound influence on bands such as The Clash, Buzzcocks, and Joy Division. INSIDE THEIR SONGS: It was two against one as Matlock sparred with John Lydon (Johnny Rotten) and their manager, Malcolm McLaren in creating songs. Both wanted the music to be more rebellious and confrontational. JOHNNY ROTTEN’S IMPACT: Johnny Rotten couldn’t sing but knew how to push Glen Matlock’s buttons.
