This Triggs Custom A-Style Mandolin was made especially for Byron Berline and the Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival as a prize and is in Very Good condition with some pick wear, though otherwise it's very clean. The Spruce top and Maple back and sides deliver a wonderful, rich tone with really nice sustain, as well as look great with its natural finish. This has a 1 1/8" nut width and 1 9/16" string spacing at the bridge. Simple yet elegant details are here, too, like Ivoroid binding and a slick lightning bolt headstock inlay that would make Elvis proud. The builder, Jim Triggs, was with Gibson for years, including its famed Custom Shop, before establishing his own shop in 1992 in Kansas, where he creates masterful mandos and guitars, many inspired by iconic Loars. This Triggs Custom A-Style Mandolin comes with a hybrid case.
