Unusual metal artwork to evoke the coast. A one-off creation in copper & brass handmade by Sharon McSwiney in St Ives, Cornwall. Fronds of metal seaweed have been applied to brass squares with pieces extending over the edges. Silver soldered & decorated with etching, hammering & embossing each piece is unique. Flux & acrylic are also added to further decorate the surfaces. Three panels are suspended from a wooden top bar, each piece is allowed to move & secured by soldered jump rings. The metalwork has been given a protective lacquer coating. SIZE: The complete wall piece measures approx 57cm wide by 40cm long. The individual square sections are approx 8cm x 8cm to give an idea of scale. A real alternative to a painting this metal artwork is evocative of Cornwall inspired by the colour & texture.
