The new K-light 2 fits like a glove in both our glider range and very many pilots’ backpacks, and just like its slightly heavier brother it will take very good care of its pilots in the air. It was designed to be the obvious “next step” for ambitious newcomers to our sport and to be the right choice for pilots straight out of school as well as seasoned weekend warriors. It does everything that the Knight 2 does, only with even less stress on your joints and back, and it does it in effortless style. To keep things simple we have opted to keep the standard risers on the K-light 2 – in this pilot segment, simplicity trumps the few extra grams that the standard risers add, and we are certain that K-light 2 pilots will appreciate the opportunity to learn B-C steering on a very forgiving wing, regardless of the kind of flying adventures they choose to engage in. Designer's notes “The K-light 2 is the lightweight version of our new entry-level EN B wing, the Knight 2. It shares most characteristics with the sturdier older brother, but as usual with these lighter models it does have a slightly more playful feel to it; the launch is possibly a trifle lighter, the feel in thermals a little livelier etc. It preserves the very high level of passive safety that characterises the Knight 2, and during testing we did get the impression that it was slightly less dynamic in asymmetric collapses, probably due to the lower canopy mass. Other than that the main difference is surely weight and volume – something that is felt before and after the flight, and not really while in the air. The K-light 2 is very similar to the Knight 2, with the usual differences you'd expect with the light version. See our video review of the Knight 2 below. "So let's start from the ground up. So for a low B glider, I find the ground handling is, is pretty easy. It's right for the class, easier in stronger conditions. Glider's a little trickier in lighter winds and more fickle winds. The launch, the glider inflates, and comes up very solidly. So on the launch run you've got a very taught feeling glider that has a very good shape. As you're running off you can feel the glider really clearly through the risers. Handling. It's surprisingly agile for a Low B wing. It's definitely one of the more agile gliders in the low B class. So the turns aren't so flat, they're a little bit more rolly. If the, if the ridge lift is weak, you're having to be efficient. If you're heavy handed, you're gonna find you you bank up and then lose height. In terms of feeling, the glider feels very taught and very solid right across the glider. And so it's collapsed resistant, solid feeling. Feedback is, for a Low B wing it's reasonably moderate to to high. Good feedback. More feedback than some other low B wings. And I found the collapses, particularly on the smaller size quite dynamic for a low B wing. I think in the low B class, the Knight 2 has excellent performance, particularly in speed and glide. I think the sink rate and the climb rate are good, but I don't feel like they're exceptional. I tried putting the glider into some spirals. Because it's rolly, I think, it does tend to go down and a build into a spiral quite quickly. That's where the Knight 2, I feel like the handling is aimed a little bit more for pilots who are ambitious, who've got the feeling who've got the finesse to control that. But if you haven't got a feeling yet of of gliders and how they build up speed then you might find the Knight 2 a little bit surprising at times. If you're the kind of pilot that, when you're training, and when you're flying, if you are like, hitting some sporty air and stuff.. Then you're gonna like that sort of glider. I found the BC system was very usable and effective. Pressure is moderate to high. So it's a little bit on the heavier side, from the pressure point of view, but it's very effective. So in summary the Triple Seven Knight 2 is a low B wing with pilot demands at the higher end of the low B class, possibly even somewhere between the low B to mid B. Performance right at the top of the low B class. It's got really excellent performance. It's got a character and it's flying characteristics, which stand out in the class. Very exceptional, because it's very much built for XC and performance. Feeling and feedback. It's very solid and reassuring. It's very pressurised, very efficient feeling. It's very nippy in the handling. It's actually agile.
