This is a multi-purpose, studio-grade delay device like you’ve never seen before. Jack White loves using delay pedals on his voice, but the process can cause lots of problems, including noise, volume drops, and loss of clarity. When Jack brought this idea to Josh, we immediately gave it the same care and attention we gave to the Colour Box and the Pulp N Peel. The Troika is more than a pedal. It’s a pro-audio studio device designed to work with microphones, guitars, or any instrument you want to use. With that in mind, we equipped it with both XLR and ¼” Inputs and Outputs. Utilizing a hi-grade Lundahl transformer on the mic input, and a secondary output transformer, this is like no delay you’ve seen before. It works great with other effects and is perfect for desktop and professional recording studios as well as on stage in front of thousands of people. If you want to use a delay that’s different from everything else on the market, look no further! Trifecta of Special Features! We designed the Troika with sliders like a small mixing console to give Jack White easy, real-time control of the unit in a live setting. The bypass switch is above the sliders to keep it out of the way of on-the-fly adjusting. CONTROLS Repeats - Adjusts the amount of repeats or feedback. Down is less, up is more. Volume - Adjusts the volume of the delay signal level. Down is less, up is more. Distance - Adjusts the delay time from 80ms up to 1 second. Down is the least, up is the most. Mic Gain - Preamp gain level located on the RIGHT side of the pedal. Clockwise, it goes from +20dB to +80dB gain. Footswitch - Silent, soft touch switching, buffered bypass. NOTE: Microphone preamp remains active in bypass. INTERNAL DIP SWITCHES MIC/INST - Select the input type of the combo jack, either a balanced XLR microphone level or ¼” unbalanced instrument level. The microphone selection routes to the Lundahl transformer active preamp. Preamp gain is adjusted with the side control. Phantom power can pass through the pedal when using the microphone input and the XLR output. The instrument selection routes to a high-impedance buffer and does not pass through the active preamp section. Instead, it has a high quality, always active JFET op-amp buffer. TRAILS/NO TRAILS - Selects whether the repeats “trail” when the pedal is bypassed or stop when the pedal is bypassed. JACKS Mic/Inst Input Jack - ¼” instrument input or XLR microphone input. You must set the internal dip switch for the correct input type. Echo Output - Passes only the wet signal (delay effect). The XLR output and other ¼” output will only pass dry signal when this jack is used. Dry/Wet Output - Normal output with blended dry and wet signal (Dry signal only when Echo Output output is used). Balanced XLR Output - Dry and wet signal blended output (Dry signal only when Echo Output is used). This output is a transformer isolated, balanced instrument level. NOTE: Any output can be sent to a console, audio interface, or additional effects/amp while retaining perfect audio quality. This pedal uses 9VDC, center negative and consumes 125mA. Do not use more than 9VDC. Damage may occur, and your warranty will be voided. Silent, soft touch switching with a buffered bypass. The pedal measures 2.6” X 4.8 X 2.2”.
