Trojan Coupling - Duofit Override - Backframe & Lever Only The Trojan Duofit Override Backframe Lever Coupling is a heavy‑duty hydraulic connection designed to deliver fast, secure hitching with less effort. Built for demanding environments, this backframe and lever assembly pairs rugged mechanics with precise hydraulic action to simplify coupling and uncoupling tasks in busy work settings. Why this coupling stands out Hydraulic override for easier operation: The hydraulic backframe provides smooth, controlled action that reduces manual strain during hitching and release, a real advantage on larger trailers or in challenging conditions. Auto‑fit Duofit design: The system automatically adapts to tow balls sizes (50 mm or 1 7/8"), so you don’t need to swap handles or components when switching between common trailer configurations. This streamlines installation and daily use. Backframe & Lever integration: The backframe and lever assembly is a purpose‑built unit that delivers solid mechanical leverage, enabling reliable engagement with the tow hitch. Spare parts are available for ongoing maintenance. Durable construction with corrosion protection: The Duofit components are manufactured from high‑grade cast iron and finished with corrosion‑protective coatings for long‑term, maintenance‑free performance. Backframe conversion capability: A dedicated backframe assembly enables converting a mechanical operation override to hydraulic action, offering flexibility for retrofits and upgrades. Rated for demanding loads: The Duofit system is designed for substantial trailer applications, with a typical rating in the vicinity of 2500 kg, making it suitable for a wide range of utility and braked trailers. Easy retrofit and installation: The lever and backframe are designed for straightforward installation and retrofitting into existing Trojan Duofit setups, reducing downtime and complexity on installation jobs. Spare parts availability: Components like the Backframe & Lever (T201685, Hydraulic Backframe) are offered as singles to support servicing and longer service life. Practical use cases and who benefits most Ideal for load‑bearing trailers and service fleets that require reliable, repeatable hitching in outdoor or industrial environments. The hydraulic override reduces physical effort in busy yards, while the auto‑fit Duofit design simplifies field changes between common tow balls. Fleet operators, mobile technicians, and caravan/trailer enthusiasts will appreciate the quicker connection times and the durability of a backframe lever system that’s built to endure corrosion and rough handling. How it compares and practical tips Compared with traditional lever couplings, the Trojan Duofit Override Backframe Lever offers a hydraulic advantage that speeds up coupling and improves consistency across operators. When planning maintenance, inspect the backframe bolts and the hydraulic components regularly, and consider keeping a spare Backframe & Lever (T201685) on hand to minimize downtime. If you’re upgrading an older mechanical override setup, the backframe assembly can facilitate a smooth conversion to hydraulic action, preserving your existing mounting footprint while upgrading performance. With Trojan’s proven engineering and a design that auto‑adapts to common tow balls, this Duofit system delivers dependable performance when you need it most—whether you’re hitching for a worksite run, routing equipment to a remote site, or topping off a fleet that demands quick, repeatable hookups.
