A majestic presence for any room, the Trompa Rug is a stunning, shaped depiction of earth's largest living land animal, handmade from 100% natural abaca fiber. Part of the collecti on by Charlap Hyman & Herrero for Patterson Flynn, a studio recognized with the 2026 National Design Award for Interior Design by the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum. Oversized dots of glossy coiled black abaca create a bold graphic contrast against the elephant's body, where the weave is deliberately elongated and textured to evoke the creature's rich, tactile hide. Every detail is hand-coiled by skilled artisans from highly flexible natural abaca fiber, resulting in a sculptural, floor-level work of art as commanding as its subject. Show more
