Tronic is a collaboration between textile house Kvadrat and fashion designer Raf Simons, drawn from Simons' longstanding fascination with the dip-dye technique. Where dye is typica lly applied after weaving, Tronic achieves its color gradation through the precise calibration of differently colored yarns within the weave itself. The result is a throw that shifts from one tone to another across its length, neither abrupt nor arbitrary. The construction combines cashmere and wool, two fibers whose qualities are complementary: cashmere for its softness and drape, wool for its structure and resilience. White and black warp threads woven throughout produce a subtle flickering quality in the surface, giving the color field a quiet optical depth that changes with light and angle.
