Discover Ex-Voto Rose by Trudon. This ex-voto was discovered during archaeological excavations in Syria in the 1850s and was most likely offered to a Syrian deity. The inscription engraved around its wrist, “Prokla en ex-voto,” translates as “For herself or her household, to dedicate.” The original piece is housed in the Louvre Museum. As part of its collaboration with the Réunion des Musées Nationaux – Grand Palais (the French National Museum Organisation), Trudon presents reproductions of this work in a range of coloured waxes. Each ex-voto is adorned with a wick, paying homage to the candle’s primary function, even though these wax sculptures are intended to be collected rather than consumed.
