This book, which accompanies a forthcoming exhibition at the Deutsche Guggenheim Museum, investigates the legacy of northern Romantic landscape painting in contemporary photography , sculpture and video. It presents artists' reveries on place, which transform the idealism of the Romantic tradition through the specificity of photographic representation.
