I use my client's recent pictures for the portrait. Before I start drawing, I would look at the pictures and go into a meditative state; It guides me to use different media and colors for the portrait. After working with many clients, I started to discover patterns. When a client has a very Neptunian/Piscean energy, watercolor expresses their ever-shifting energy. When I sense Scorpion energy, oil pastel works perfect for their mysterious energy and natural intensity. The energy set up and perceived during my drawing process is very much alive - I am always fascinated how the portrait continues to shift and evolve after it's finished, just like our true Self continues to unfold and reveal pieces of itself during our life journey.
