After a long and at times brutal court case, ‘Chunk’ from the Goonies finally pulled down his floral shirt and began designing surfboards. Chunk (aka David George Howell) first des igned the ‘TRUFFLE SHUFFLE’ back in 2012 as a step down for our travelling and competing team, but it has continued being a crowd favourite because of its forgiving, versatile yet explosive nature in almost all wave conditions. The board carries a touch extra width in the nose and foam under the chest and front foot, with a forgiving rail shape all compensating for a reduction in board length from refined “pro-form” outline. The entry rocker is flatter, which helps for paddling and flow across fat sections but has double concave and pronounced vee running through the tail, which coupled with a slightly clustered fin set up gives the board incredible pivot and release. In short, the TRUFFLE SHUFFLE is as timeless as any other 1980’s action/ adventure/ comedy. Show more
