Each piec e is unique as the color can range from dark burgundy to deep purple to rich brown and the yellow sap provides a nice contrast. It is commonly used in musical instruments, wood turning and other specialty products and furniture. As such this is a thick, heavy cutting board able to withstand typical usage. This wood is some of the most beautiful wood I have worked with to date. The grains, the colors and the elegance of this species is truly amazing.
