The Book of 2 Samuel covers the remarkable reign of David. It divides the forty years of his monarchy into two parts: the good years (chapters 2—10) and the bad years (chapters 11— 20) that disclosed his victories and his sins and the calamities that followed them. Some of these narratives tell of the depths of a king's faithfulness to God, while others relate to how deplorable sin is and how its network of influences affect family members and the future of the kingdom. Written in biographical style, the book gives a thorough coverage of the royal life of David. (430 pages) Show more
