Giving People Records a rare psych-tinged album to their catalog, their sitar head-swirling “Thoughts” cements a detour in People’s typically soul and R&B roster of artists.Featuring a collection of largely original material, the first few tracks reflect a catchy, folk-rock sound, with tracks such as “Far Out,” “Let It Out, Let It In” and “Contributin’” Truth’s sound dips into a little of everything, like their dedication to a psycho femme fatale, “Lizzie,” which shrieks and squirms into listeners' ears. Or their cover of Stevenson’s more religious “Anybody Here Know How To Pray.” Truth’s cover of Joe South's “Walk a Mile In My Shoes” has a stronger resemblance to The Jefferson Airplane, with a heavier rock sound, all chugging beneath the trio’s harmonies.After the album’s release, the band disassembled, leaving this rarely-found album in obscurity until now!
