Daisy Jarrett’s work is first and foremost about women and the female experience. Within that she explores themes surrounding body image and gendered stereotypes as well as nature, folklore and the surreal. Her chosen medium of monotype, allows her to work in an expressive and painterly way to create dreamlike often humorous portraits of women. Many of her subjects are taken from images she finds online, as well as women in her life and self portraits. In this most recent series, she is inspired by her move to the seaside, online dating, romance, sexuality and the body. Show more
