The tryzub – literally “trident” in Ukrainian – is the symbol on the Ukrainian coat of arms adopted after Ukraine gained independence in 1991, though the history of the tryzub dates all the way back to Kyivan Rus. Andrii Voloshyn is a nuclear physicist and a self-taught illustrator with 15 years of professional experience.
