The "Redneck Rhododendron" is one of the hardiest broad-leaf evergreens. This tough, deer resistant, handsome small tree is very easy to grow, requiring little maintenance. The fol iage is similar to a Rhododendron with red petioles. The flowers are about as simple as possible; on female plants the flowers are made up of stigmas and on male plants the flowers are stamens only.
