Designed in 1957 by Eero Saarinen, the Tulip chair presented an alternative to four-leg seating. The Tulip armchair features a sculptural plastic shell, seat cushion and a fixed or swivel pedestal base. Variety of fabrics available. The solution he devised was creating furniture supported by a singular, fluted base. Therefore streamlining the number of legs, and in turn, creating an iconic design widely used in kitchens, dining rooms and meeting rooms. The KnollStudio logo and the signature of Eero Saarinen are located on the underside of the base. MaterialsBase: Cast aluminium, Rilsan coated finish.
