Red with yellow: a Darwin hybrid that does her name justice. Hans Brinker from the famous story held back a dike with his finger. This tulip does the same: she does the job, withou t fuss. Darwin hybrids were created in 1943 from a cross between the Darwin tulip and Tulipa fosteriana. Hans Brinker benefits from the strength of that cross. Large flower, exceptionally sturdy stem. She grows up to fifty-five centimetres. Red with yellow edge, a classic combination. She excels as a cut flower and holds for weeks in the vase. Wind and rain have little power over this construction. Plant her in full sun with well-draining soil. April and May. She's a persistent grower who won't let you down. The Hero.
