Tuvia Shehora can be a bit of a chameleon depending on its growing conditions. While Singapore growers have harvested Tuvia Shehora with bright yellow and red skin, North American farmers have noted a dark black skin on this variety. Weather and climate have a strong impact on Tuvia Shehora. Tuvia Shehora figs are usually round in shape with a thicker skin. Beneath the skin is an amber colored pulp with sweet, honey flavors. Some have also tasted hints of guava or tropical flavors in North American-grown Tuvia Shehoras. These figs are small in size, around 30 grams. This is a common variety that grows on trees with 3- and 5-lobed leaves. Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December): We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March. **All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees. Rooted Cuttings(Spring): We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span.
