This is an early "book" in the art of balloon sculpting/entertaining. Dwight Damon is one of the pioneers of balloon sculpting. Originally the art of balloon animal making was done by utilizing multiple "blimp"shaped balloons, twisted into each other to form stick figure like creations. Mr. Damon is the first known published author in the art of twisting animal shapes using one balloon. This balloon, originated in Japan as a long novelty shape with little practical application at its inception. It was the early balloon acts, clowns and magicians that developed this art in the Iowa/Illinois region, beginning in the mid 1950's. This book has many ideas on using balloons to entertain and tips on its promotional uses and set up suggestions. Most things in this book may be seen as obsolete or common knowledge to today's balloon entertainer/sculptors, but the student of this art is best served by understanding from where his or her craft began. Without the work of Dwight Damon and his colleagues of the time: John Shirley, Don Alan, Fred Ball, Jack Dennerlein and Jim Davis the modern balloon arts would not exist.
