Learn to sew, hand stitch, use a sewing machine, revamp, upcycle ♻️ or custom design your existing clothes or charity shop ‘find.’ Learn to read and follow a commercial sewing patt ern by making an item of clothing from scratch to professional finish. Introduction to design development through creating mood boards, fashion figure sketching & fashion flat techicnal instruction sheet. This is a 10 x week sewing programme designed specifically with TY students in mind. TY is the ideal time to explore your interests whether just for fun or with a perspective future career in mind. Work alongside like minded students in a fun, relaxed but goal oriented environment. Meet and make new friends from various schools who share your passion to create and work with textiles. Sewing machines and all tools necessary are provided. Fabric for the initial ‘get to know’ the sewing machine (tote bag) project will be provided. Students to provide own fabric, thread and fastenings for main commercial pattern project. Our bright and spacious studio is located in the heart of Dun Laoghaire.
