The militia that guards this city has never had to deal with anything more dangerous than shoplifters and self-important visitors, so when an insane eccentric takes part of the city hostage to enact a malicious plot, the guards’ captain will need to enlist traveling heroes to save the day. Bank of Souls - level 17 Monsters are missing. Many may take this as a good sign, an indication of a safer environment, and the triumph of civilization. Ordinarily, this might well be the case, but not if something far worse is snatching the monsters and gobbling them up. A lich, eater of souls, abducts monsters and mortals alike to subject them to a fate worse than death. As prisoners in an endless cycle of maddening experiments, torture, pain, and fear, they are to answer the lich’s burning question: do monsters have a soul?
