This U bolt is a structural fastener used to clamp the rear leaf spring pack to the axle on the Land Rover Series 3 109" long-wheelbase model. Worn, corroded, or deformed U bolts can allow spring pack movement, leading to axle wander, uneven tyre wear, and accelerated spring fatigue.
