Cicer arietinum. This variety is dry-farmed by the Rarámuri people in the fall, at the bottom of the Barranca del Cobre (Copper Canyon) in Chihuahua, Mexico. From our Seed Bank Col lection. Origin: Low Desert, about 2000' elevation Plant in fall through early February in the low desert, or in early spring in cooler climates. Prefers well drained soil and arid climates.
