The Artisan Process Each UMBO shade is hand-cast and hand-finished in England. Plaster is mixed, poured, and worked by hand — no two shades are identical. The flat cone profile demands precision: the wide brim must be even, the taper consistent, the surface smooth without being sterile. Small variations in texture and tone are not imperfections. They are the evidence of making. Light & Shadow Play The UMBO's geometry is designed around light behaviour. The wide flat brim throws a broad, even pool of downward light — ideal over dining tables, kitchen islands, and reading nooks.
