Grasses? Boring? You must be having a laugh... With its shimmering coppery leaves, 'Everflame' flies in the face of the idea that ornamental grasses are the garden's 'dull' customers. During summer, this variety produces feathery flower panicles, also in a brown hue, while the leaves themselves boast a red margin that really makes the plant pop. Pair alongside other ornamental grasses, or use to complement bolder flowering perennials such as crocosmia or cannna (whose fiery blooms are enhanced by the plant's bronze blades). Growing to a height and spread of just 30cm or so, this variety is suited both to container-growing and the front of your borders. A versatile little plant, 'Everflame' sees itself happily incorporated into coastal, prairie and Japanese garden schemes, as well as offering a highly tactile plant for sensory gardens.
