Uncle Nearest 1856 50% ABV Produced in Tennessee from a mix of corn and rye whiskies, this expression from Uncle Nearest is a classic example of whiskey made in the state. It’s been filtered using the Lincoln County maple charcoal filtration process, before being aged in brand new American oak. Tasting note: Nose: The aroma promises an indulgently rich dram, with notes of brown sugar cubes, sultanas, glace cherries, cinnamon, bread-and-butter pudding, and a crisp apple note. Palate: Mouth-filling with LOADS of sweetness, there’s abundant corn character along with flapjack, maple syrup, chocolate-covered peanuts, hay and black pepper. Finish: Long with more fruitness and a tangy oak spice.
