Uncle Sam's Misguided Children Patch — USMC Humor Military Morale Embroidered Patch If you know, you know — USMC has always had a second meaning. "Uncle Sam's Misguided Children" is one of the most beloved unofficial backronyms in the United States Marine Corps. Every Marine has heard it, most have said it, and all of them understand exactly what it means. It's the kind of dark, self-deprecating humor that thrives in barracks, motor pools, and ready rooms across every Marine installation — a wink-and-nod acknowledgment that the Corps asks more of its Marines than any rational person would volunteer for, and that every single one of them volunteered anyway. This morale patch captures the irreverent spirit that is uniquely Marine Corps. From Parris Island to Camp Pendleton, from Okinawa to 29 Palms, "Uncle Sam's Misguided Children" is the unofficial motto that every Marine secretly loves. It's a term of endearment wrapped in gallows humor — and wearing it says you've earned the right to laugh about it. Perfect For: Active-duty Marines and veterans across every MOS, Marine families who get the joke, military humor enthusiasts, morale patch collectors, and anyone who's ever been voluntold for a working party at 0500. Semper Fi — even when misguided.
