A traditional style potato soup of German descent. Rich in both style and substance, this one satisfies the pickiest eaters. Just add evaporated milk, margarine, sour cream and water. Directions: Bring 4 quarts of water to a boil in large stock pot. Drop in the two smallest seasoning packets along with 1 stick of butter or margarine, 1/2 cup evaporated milk and 8 oz. of sour cream. Bring back to a boil and cook on high for 15-20 minutes or until sour cream is completely melted. Then slowly add remaining potato packet, stirring with wire whisk until smooth. Simmer 10-15 minutes longer. Stir often to prevent scorching. Hint: Any kind of meat such as bacon, sausage, ham may be added. Soup may also be served over jack or mozarella cheese. Serves 6-8.
