Undercurrents is a documentary photographic project created by artist Li Yifan in the winter of 2022. Focusing on energy landscapes and communities in various parts of the UK, it r ubs together the artist's understanding of historical legacies, industrial structures and related policies. The changing relative political and economic status of the UK in the context of the energy transition and the Russian-Ukrainian conflict is discussed from the perspective of an outsider.
