This magical mixed-media piece brings a splash of ocean wonder to your craft space, using the beautiful 49 and Market Shipwreck Collection to create an underwater dreamcatcher that feels straight out of a mermaid’s treasure cove. Crafted inside a large embroidery hoop. this project is all about layering rich textures and dreamy ocean ephemera. The background is a deep, moody blue that sets the scene—like looking through a porthole into the sea. Floating in the centre is a graceful mermaid, surrounded by clusters of seaweed, coral, and marine life ephemera that pop right out of the page. There are starfish, seashells, anemones, and even tiny fish, all fussy-cut and arranged with dimension for a lush, 3D effect. A scattering of flat-back pearls and sparkly baubles gives the illusion of rising bubbles and adds that extra shimmer and magic. Tucked within the layers are simple word banners like “Discover” and “Carefree,” perfectly capturing the vibe of this peaceful underwater escape. This kit is a perfect blend of paper crafting and dimensional art—ideal for: A wall hanging in a creative space A standout feature in a mixed media gallery wall A dreamy gift for a mermaid-loving soul No stamping or heavy mixed media required—just your favourite adhesives, a love for fussy cutting, and a willingness to dive in and let your imagination swim wild.
