Description The Unity is a 2-metre single-phase recessed track in white aluminium, designed to sit flush within plasterboard ceilings or similar surfaces. The track measures 60mm wide and 20mm deep, creating a low-profile channel that supports multiple track lights on a single circuit without visible surface mounting hardware. Designed for retail, office and residential installations where track lighting needs to cover extended runs without breaking the ceiling plane, the Unity accepts standard single-phase track heads that clip directly into the channel. The 2-metre length allows for continuous lighting across large walls, display zones or open-plan living areas, and the track can be cut to shorter lengths on site to fit specific dimensions or to join at corners. The white powder-coated aluminium finish matches standard white plasterboard and painted ceilings, making the track recede visually when not lit. The single-phase electrical bus runs the full 2-metre length at AC 220-240V, allowing track heads to be positioned anywhere along the rail and repositioned as lighting needs change. Installation requires cutting a 60mm channel into the ceiling substrate and connecting to mains via the track's integral terminals. Yes. The aluminium track can be cut to custom lengths on site using a hacksaw or mitre saw, allowing it to fit specific room dimensions or to create mitred corners where two tracks meet. The electrical bus runs the full length, so cutting does not affect circuit continuity. What track lights are compatible? The Unity accepts standard single-phase track heads that clip into the channel. Maytoni produces a range of compatible track spotlights in the Unity collection, and the track also works with other manufacturers' single-phase track fittings that follow the same electrical and mechanical standard. What depth of ceiling void is needed? The track is 20mm deep and requires a ceiling void of at least 30mm to allow for the track body plus clearance for electrical connections and any thermal expansion. The 60mm width determines the size of the slot cut into the plasterboard face. Is the track dimmable? Dimming depends on the track lights fitted into the channel, not the track itself. If you fit dimmable LED track heads and connect the circuit to a compatible LED dimmer, the entire track becomes dimmable.
