Pro Tip: For circle hooks to work, they need to be taken deeply into the mouth to the point of swallowing it. The inward pointed tip will prevent hooking in the stomach or throat. As the fish swims away, the hook is pulled back out and is engaged to the corner or top of the mouth. Let them run with the bait until you are certain they have swallowed the bait, then close the bail and slowly reel to engage the hook into the corner of the mouth. When the rod is fully engaged, you can give a bump to set the hook, but mainly just start fighting the fish and the levering action of the hook will dig the hook point in deeper. No Bass Master hook sets. Reel don't jerk.
