A beautiful solid piece made by British maker Remploy. This sideboard has been restored, modernised and refinished with love and attention featuring hand-painted signature floral artwork that makes it truly one-of-a-kind. This is a vintage piece dating from the mid century with a stylish retro feel. It has clean simple lines and wonderful proportions making it ideal for modern living; and equally creating a perfect blank canvas for a new design. After full preparation to the frame, it has been refinished professionally with a warm neutral shade called Albaster by Fusion Mineral Paint, (a hand-painted sample can be provided on request) the finish had been sealed to protect and has the sheen and finish of an eggshell paint. In particular the legs on this sideboard are original and beautifully classic of the popular mcm era. The sideboard has a cupboard space, and four drawers, slimmer at the top which is a lovely design feature. The original handles were missing and so these have been replaced with beautiful contemporary brass hardware to modernise; and the front has been meticulously decorated With a hand-painted floral design. My floral work is intuitive and so will often seem loose and free, yet with a real focus on line and colour also; this particular motif is based on bold daisy stems and has been painted in beautiful tones of pink, blue, green, aubergine and a pop of yellow to contrast and add an uplifting feel. The neutral frame works as the perfect backdrop to make everything pop and come alive. This hand-painted design is entirely bespoke and as mentioned completely unique, with a carefully selected colour palette; then sealed to finish and protect with a clear top coat. I can imagine this looking beautiful as a focal point in a bedroom, or entryway even, an eye catching tv stand possibly; would definitely bring joy to your day and spark conversation when you have guests visiting. Please also note that each piece of furniture art is signed and dated on the reverse for provenance. Condition The interior of the drawers have been oiled to replenish and the runners waxed so that they run smoothly. The sideboard stands solid, however please keep in mind that this piece is antique and not brand new so may be odd signs of use and character consumerate with age. It is a mid century piece, that has been refinished to a good standard. The condition is good, with smooth flat paintwork; where the motif has been hand- painted this has been sealed to protect.
