DESCRIPTION A pair of elegant and stately antique armchairs from Germany. The armchairs are believed to be made in the mid of last century, and based on the 19th century furniture styles with their pared down cabriole arms and legs. They were sold in an antique shop in Germany, before being shipped over to Singapore. The seat backs features a unique upturned style with hints of Art Deco, while the arms and legs accentuate those curves in a similar way. The chairs’ original seat springs and wood lacquer with their beautiful signs of ageing have both been retained. The chairs also have beautiful wood grain markings that are evident on their respective top frame. The chairs have been updated with a Kitty McCall limited edition Kyoto fabric for their seat backs, and Fibreguard’s reliable and easy to maintain Acacia fabric for their seat pads. These chairs have been restored and worked on lovingly by local woodworkers and upholsterers. NOTES ON CONDITION The armchairs are preloved. Both chairs show minor scuffs commonly associated with second hand furniture, but are otherwise acceptable and not unduly obvious to a casual observer. Both chairs are stable.
