The pinnacle of the Poison series, the Poison Ultima brings Shimano's JDM offering to the North American market and showcases Shimano's most advanced rod technologies. Shimano's flagship Spiral X Core technology combines featherweight construction with enhanced multi-directional strength, and when paired with Hi-Power X it increases resistance to blank twist. Lightweight, high-performance Shimano X-Guides maximize the blank's design for smoother, longer casts and fewer line issues. Casting models employ Shimano's Full Carbon Monocoque grip — a full-carbon construction that boosts sensitivity and features a new handle shape developed by scientifically analyzing tournament anglers' movement and holding posture to improve control and comfort. Spinning models use a Carbon Shell Grip, a lightweight hollow structure that transmits subtle underwater vibrations to the angler's hand. Built as the ultimate performance rod, the Poison Ultima represents the ongoing evolution of Shimano's engineering.
