This painting brings that philosophy into conversation with tawakkul: the Islamic act of surrendering completely to Allah’s plan after doing all within your capacity. At the centre is the qalb- the heart, the seat of the soul in Islamic tradition. Its golden cracks are not wounds to be hidden, but honoured marks of a life lived through difficulty with faith intact. Above, liquid gold pours downward, representing the mercy and provision of Allah that never ceases for the one who trusts in Him. Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear.
