BMW N63 OEM Twin Turbo T51R Modification (2008–2018) — Made to Order — Standard Lead Time: 2–3 Weeks OEM twin-turbocharger T51R modification for BMW N63 equipped vehicles (2008–Present). Model Compatibility Early Model: 2008–2018 ✔ Supported Late Model: 2019–Present ❌ Currently not supported Late-model turbochargers require welding a new 2.5” inlet pipe in place of the factory spring-clip inlet design. Custom intake piping would also be required, so this modification is not offered for those models at this time. Ordering Options Option 1 – Send Your Housings Send in your OEM compressor housings. Once received, we will: Machine the compressor housing Perform the T51R modification Return the completed housings to you Shipping address will be provided on your order confirmation email. Option 2 – Purchase Our Modified Housings Purchase in-stock housings that will be modified in-house. We will: Perform the T51R modification Ship fully finished housings to you You can then swap them at your convenience. $600 Core Rebate Available Return your removed housings within 30 days of receiving ours and receive a $600 rebate. Important Notes Hybrid turbochargers are not currently compatible. The T51R mod permanently machines the compressor housing and cannot be reversed. No tune or additional supporting modifications are required. What Does the T51R Mod Do? The T51R modification dramatically increases turbo induction sound, giving your BMW the aggressive tone similar to: Large top-mount turbo setups Turbo diesel spool sound This modification amplifies the OEM turbochargers’ natural sound characteristics without affecting drivability. Recommended Supporting Mod We highly recommend an aftermarket turbo inlet kit. Factory BMW inlet pipes are designed to muffle turbo noise, which can partially reduce the sound effect of the T51R modification.
