Backlit by LEDs. 44.5 x 32 x 4.5$400 Urban Botanica explores the intersection between the natural world and the man-made environment through the use of overlapping and repetitive photographic transparencies. The interweaving of wattles and road markings creates a new reality, where the two appear to seamlessly merge into something new. This hybrid result is at once a celebration of the two worlds that exists at the corners of our city, whilst also contemplating the potential fragility of nature represented by the see-through silhouette of an endangered native orchid. Shipping is not included in the online artwork purchase price. Artworks currently on exhibition can be collected from the gallery at 45 Flinders Lane, Melbourne VIC 3000 once the exhibition has concluded.
