Tasting notes This is the cider that we give to the people who say they don't like cider. It's easy drinking, sunshine in a bottle and will turn even the most ardent cider hater into a devout orchard evangelist! Lots of the apples in this cider came from a beautiful 40 year old north facing orchard called Woodlands. Located on a organically certified farm, this orchard is everything an orchard should be. Teeming with bird life, moths and small mammals it truly is a joy to spend time in. Food pairing suggestions Bright and naturally sparkling, this medium cider has notes of honey and melon tempered by gentle astringency. Try pairing this with an earthy mushroom risotto. Delicious! The story behind the cider A creature synonymous with the Herefordshire countryside, hedgehogs are a common sight in the ancient orchards we care for. Before their current name was popularised in the 16th century, these spiny friends were known as urchins. Earlier still, medieval scholars believed that hedgehogs were able to collect apples by spearing the fruit with their spines and storing it away to stave off hunger in the lean months. Everything is packed and shipped by us (Tom and Lydia) at the cidery and we aim to get all orders out within two days of purchase. If you need your cider more quickly, get in touch and we'll do our best to help! Orders are shipped via Parcel Force on a 48hr delivery service. Does the cider have a use by date? Unopened and stored in a cool, dry place our cider will be good to drink for around three years As a general rule, like wine, cider has excellent capacity for ageing. If the cider has been opened we recommend sealing with a champagne stopper and storing in the fridge for no more than 24 hours. Is the cider vegan friendly? Yes, our only ingredient is apples! Is the cider organic? We only use organically grown, unsprayed apples in our cider. Due to the number of orchards we care for belonging to other people we are not able to officially certify ourselves organic at this point in time. Does the cider contain sulphites? Our cider does not contain sulphites, however our perries contain a trace amount. I'm local. Can I come and collect my order? Of course!
