An excellent addition to a USB signal chain, USB•FILTER connects to USB-C ports directly or to USB-A ports using the USB-A Adapters option Supports USB 3.1 with USB 2.0 backward compatibility. Ideal for use with OPTO•USB, SRC•DX or any USB DAC or component. USB•FILTER provides excellent RF/EMI line noise suppression on +5V/GND power and common/differential mode noise suppression on D+/D- data lines. The benefit of USB•FILTER is complementary to the differential signaling and spread spectrum clocking used by USB-C controllers to lower EMI and EMF radiation. The USB-A Adapters option is a passive (metal-to-metal) design with no added circuitry. Be wary of 3rd party adapters/cables that contain RF noisy digital logic to support USB speed compensation or USB-C PD power delivery. USB•FILTER performance is bi-directional, however connecting the plug side (male) closest to the signal termination (DAC) allows the TVS diodes to best mitigate ESD and suppress transient voltages.
